HIGH WYCOMBE

Office fit out and refurbishment services, High Wycombe

Wycombe’s known history stretches right back to the Roman occupation of Britain. We know this because a Roman villa was unearthed in the Wycombe valley in 1724. The topography around Wycombe (its valley and river features) meant that it was an obvious location for human habitation and the emergence of industry and its river-powered corn mills, fulling mills and then paper mills. But High Wycombe is probably best known today for its chair making industry. Even its local football team are called ‘The Chair Boys’!

Today, High Wycombe is located in the heart of the Thames Valley, yet is also only 29 miles North West of Charing Cross, London. Fast train services mean a quick commute into London of only 34 minutes. Wycombe also lies very close to junction 4 of the M40, providing good access into London, Oxford and Birmingham by car. Junction 8/9 of the M4 is only 18 minutes away via the A404. Heathrow is just 19 miles away.

Unsurprisingly, therefore, the town has attracted many head offices to its business parks, the largest of which is Cressex Business Park. Others are Glory Park in Wooburn Green (5 miles from central High Wycombe), Kingsmead Business Park (2 miles from central High Wycombe), Mercury Park (also in Wooburn Green) and Peregrine Business Park (2 miles east of central High Wycombe).

Wycombe’s exceptional physical connectivity and its excellent IT infrastructure in terms of broadband and telecoms mean that it will continue to be a destination of choice for both established companies looking for a well-located headquarters and new start-ups looking to take advantage of the talented local workforce and the business support available from Wycombe District Council.

Other locational benefits

Glenside were based in High Wycombe for 47 years. We know the challenges and opportunities for companies working in the fast-paced Thames Valley, the London periphery and the South East more generally.

We also understand the pressures to make the optimum use of floor space in an area where acquiring business use premises can be very expensive. Glenside has become adept at advising businesses looking to relocate or wanting an office fit out to make the optimum use available space. Expert space planning and structural changes such as the installation of mezzanine floors can create space out of nowhere. These factors, together with the design of creative flexible workspaces, have resulted in some very innovative office fit out solutions for our budget-conscious customers.

A clean, straightforward, bright space with high storage capacity, effective partitioning and ergonomic and well-designed furniture were the key requirements of an office relocation and fit out for a financial services company in High Wycombe

We always take time to understand a company and its needs before we take on any project. This ensures that its requirements are met and the office design is appropriate for the organisation. Our project in Buckinghamshire for an international software company is an example of this successful approach.
